Hi, I'm Javier Cacheiro López — you may know me as javicacheiro. I'm a PhD working at CESGA (Galicia Supercomputing Center) in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, where I lead the Big Data team and serve as Scientific Director of the OneHealth DataSpace.

I'm passionate about technology and science, and I've spent my career at the intersection of both: making supercomputers, big data platforms and cloud infrastructures useful for researchers and companies.

What I Do

• Scientific Director, OneHealth DataSpace — leading the scientific vision of a sovereign data space for health, animal and environmental data built on CESGA's supercomputing infrastructure.
• Big Data team lead at CESGA — running the Big Data infrastructure and services of the Galicia Supercomputing Center.
• HPC & Cloud — helping science and industry get the most out of high-performance computing and cloud platforms.

OneHealth DataSpace

The OneHealth DataSpace goes beyond data sharing: it lets organizations share data with sovereignty (controlled access and conditions), analyze it with Big Data tools, compute on CESGA's supercomputing resources (simulations, AI training, genomics), and expose the results as APIs, dashboards or applications. It is funded by the Spanish Ministry for Digital Transformation through NextGenerationEU.
